Welcome Karin Matey and her partner Sebastian of Lancaster, NH.

Both Karin and Sebastian will ride a Classical Dressage Freestyle. Classical horsemanship dates back over five hundred years, and to this day, is still practiced this way at the Spanish Riding school of Vienna, Austria.

It takes approximately eight to ten years to train a young horse in the art of Classical Dressage.

Praise and reward are the educational incentives used at the Spanish Riding School in Vienna.

The art of Classical Dressage works with the natural movements of the horse.

A good horseman knows the importance of having his mount as his partner.

"We have taken it upon ourselves to care for horses and how we treat them is a yard stick of our culture. Our humanitarian aspects can be measured by our care and respect for nature and its living creatures. We are called upon to practice friendship and understanding in the way a horse thinks and feels and to be enlisted as man’s partner without depriving it of its inner most nature".

This is the message from the Spanish Riding School to all of us that love horses.
