Good bye Chester, 1995 - 2010

Thank you for sharing your precious life with us. May you rest in the arms of angels. I still feel your energy close by and often I hear your bark when you called my name. Chester was a Black Lab, he came to us from the Manchester animal shelter in New Hampshire. His life did not start out too well, at the age of one he got hit by a car and ended up in the animal hospital unfortunately, his owner never cared enough to bring him home again. Therefore, he was placed in the animal shelter in Manchester new Hampshire. This was exactly the time when I was searching for a family dog that would be loyal and trusting with small children. So Chester, his real name back then was Reggie, which I didn't think fit him at all, came into our lives. Chester had one adoption application before us so we had to wait to find out if the other people where going to follow through with the adoption or not. To our reprise we where told the people never came back so we moved forward and adopted Chester in the fall off 1995. Chester had a wonderful life with us and we are so grateful to have been able to give this to him. He loved our cats and horses too and he never complained about his pain in his later life. He lived to be to the age of 15 which in human years is 105 years old. I knew when he gave the signs that his life was coming to full circle. I sadly said good bye to him us we drove to the animal hospital where his long time vet was waiting for him to be put to rest. He had a very peaceful passing and all the way to the hospital his head rested on my knees. He knew that this was our last trip together. His body is buried right near the horses by the barn and often I feel his spirit has never left and he still watches out over us. We miss you Chester may you rest in peace.

Black Bear, 2003 - 2008

Black Bear was the cutest kitten. He and his sister Appalachia, apple for short, played all the time . For the longest time black bear was thought to be a female so he was named Violette. It sure was a surprise to find out she was actually a he. He grew up to become an avid hunter and often he delivered many of his hunted prizes. However, it was on one of his hunting trips that he did not return.
