Fifth degree blackbelt Master Karin Matey, also founder of European Esthetics & Wellness, has trained and taught in the martial arts for nearly twenty years. Master Matey believes that instructors in the martial arts must be experts, having gained a necessary level of knowledge and experience needed to motivate, inspire, and teach students to reach their fullest potential. Anyone can demonstrate kicks and punches, yet it takes many years of study to gain the ability to teach others how to apply the true philosophy of martial arts. Her first defense has always been common sense, which needs to come before acquiring self-defense.
